We strive to address the entire garment production chain, from planting the leading organic seeds grown to natural cloths to ethical working conditions which presers the entire planet.
Why to choose organic cotton?
Only sustainable fabrics made from organic and fairtrade cotton are used to create DEDICATED clothing collections. This material absorbs moisture properly, allows the body to breathe, does not electrify. Perfect for clothing that comes in direct contact with human skin. Organic cotton is grown without pesticides, so it consumes much less water without harming people, land, and eco-systems. It uses up to 91% less water, 62% less energy, and 46% less carbon compared to conventional cotton.
ETHLETICS shoes use only natural FSC certified rubber and Fair Trade organic cotton from sustainable plantations – free from pesticides, toxic chemicals. This protects the environment and the health of people who wear/manufacture shoes. Shoes have an orthopedic sole. It improves human posture and gives the leg the necessary support. It gives a feeling of comfort, feet are definitely protected from tiredness. Such a sole is excellent for flat foot prevention. The shoes are 100% vegan, PETA certified.
Only natural materials that do not endanger natural habitats and ecosystems are used in production. The shoes are manufactured in an ethical manner that ensures decent working conditions and salaries for the employees. Ethletic pays an additional 15% production cost bonus to the families of workers who work with the production facilities. This money is self-administered and is primarily used to support health insurance, retirement benefits or local education.
Synthetic fibers make up 35% of all ocean microplastics. We understand that we will not destroy the plastic we have, but we can turn it into a daily product.
Our supplier Johnny-Urban backpacks are made from 100% recycled PET bottles. Backpacks, waist bags are dirt / water-resistant and clean well. Most waterproof products are known to use PFC chemicals. Johnny-Urban has refused to use these chemicals in its products to prevent the product from returning to the water in the form of microplastics and chemicals.
During 2018, they recycled 291,000 0.5-liter bottles, representing 34.9 tonnes of plastic. Recycling PET bottles consume 59% less energy and 32% less CO2 emissions. The production also saves up to 35% water.
Advantages of Hemp
ORNAMENT-HEMP t-shirts are made of fiber hemp and organic cotton. Both materials are permeable to air and dry quickly. Cannabis fabric has antibacterial properties, is odor-free and hardly creases. It is one of the toughest and most organic natural fabrics in the world. It consumes little water and does not cultivate the soil and can be grown in the same fields for about 14 years.
Fiber hemp is the best know plant that absorbs the most CO2. All fabrics used in Ornament – hemp are GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) and OCS 100 (Organic Content Standard) certified, which means that the tissues are environmentally friendly with no use of pesticides or herbicides. Biodegradable inks are used to print on the material.
By choosing environmentally friendly materials, we are not only protecting Mother Earth, but also our health!
GOTS is a textile production certification that limits the use of toxic bleaches, dyes and other chemical inputs during the production process of textiles. It is internationally recognized as the toughest organic textile standard because it goes far beyond verifying the organic farming process to include every step of manufacturing. To obtain the GOTS “organic” label, a product must:
- Contain at least 95% organic fiber
- Not be treated with bleach, formaldehyde or any other toxic substances
- Be colored with nontoxic dyes
- Be produced in a mill that enforces strict social and environmental standards, treating their employees and the earth with deep respect. GOTS certification means that our products meet the very highest standard
The OCS 100 relies on third-party verification to confirm whether a final product contains the accurate amount of a given organically grown material. OCS allows for transparent, consistent and comprehensive independent evaluation and verification of organic material content claims on products. OCS 100 covers the processing, manufacturing, packaging, labelling, trading and distribution of a product that contains at least 95 percent certified ‘organic’ materials. It can be used as a business-to-business tool to give companies the means to ensure that they are selling quality and getting what they pay for.
Fairtrade is about better prices, decent working conditions, local sustainability, and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers in the developing world.
By requiring companies to pay sustainable prices (which must never fall lower than the market price), Fairtrade addresses the injustices of conventional trade, which traditionally discriminates against the poorest, weakest producers. It enables them to improve their position and have more control over their lives.
With Fairtrade you have the power to change the world every day. With simple shopping choices you can get farmers a better deal. And that means they can make their own decisions, control their future and lead the dignified life everyone deserves.
PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) is a non-profit association (which is taking on a global role) dedicated to establishing and protecting the rights of all animals.
For PETA, just like humans, animals are able to feel suffering and have an interest in having their own lives. They are therefore not intended for use, whether for food, clothing, experimentation, recreation, or any other reason. PETA and its supporters around the world raise awareness among politicians and the public about animal cruelty and promote the right of all animals to be treated with respect.
FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) is an international non-profit organization founded to support socially responsible management of the world’s forests through independent forest management certification and certification of certified forest products. FSC is also a sign of responsible forestry. This successful, international forest certification scheme is recognized by the global environmental and social organizations (WWF, Greenpeace, etc.). FSC certification covers all stages of processing, production, transportation and distribution from the forest to the end user. FSC certification ensures that the certified product is made from sustainable forest wood and that no impurities from non-certified forests are present at any stage in the production of this product.
